HERA Aquabolic

Sample products from SIL's cosmetics purchase.
The products are very strongly-fragranced. They also contain alcohol and evaporate damn fast. I think most of your product will simply evaporate. Gives an illusion of quick absorption. That could be why they had to provide such a generous sample. I think they caused comedomes. Used them on my feet instead.

HERA is supposed to be a high-end Korean brand. If that's the standard of high-end brands, I'm sorely disappointed. My drugstore products fare better.

FULLY Hair Fibers

Buying a different type of makeup! Shake-on hair that promises to transform a botak into a full crown! I had first-hand experience with it for Brother's wedding, when the makeup artist used it on me. It was marvelous and came off easily during shampooing. I remember seeing advertisements for a similar product a couple of years ago, going at about $50 per bottle?! Just have to be patient for a made-in-China version. Check out FULLY HAIR FIBERS from Buy Sell Supply @ Qoo10 for $10. Not sure if it's the same as what the makeup artist used and what was advertised, but $10 is cheap enough to find out for myself.

A313 Pommade

Brother and SIL were going to France for their honeymoon. Since I couldn't tag along, it made sense to make them bring back some French products.

Other than Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk which costs like 1/3 there (I think), I ordered a cheap retinol cream, A313. Need to start fighting wrinkles! It works by stimulating collagen production. I have read about people using Retin A, but that requires a prescription and I'm too lazy and cheapo to do that. Retinol is available OTC, but I haven't seen any product that's purely retinol, without other ingredients that I'm not interested in. A313 is the answer! The original hot product is Avibon, but it's now extinct. A313 is the closest match.

Lioele Auto Eyebrow

I'm tired of sharing the eyebrow powder with Sister! And the applicator is broken. And it's difficult to achieve the thick eyebrow look that's in fashion these days because layering the powder doesn't seem to work.

So I'm getting the Lioele Auto Eyebrow! Rave reviews everywhere.
S$8.50
And it's so cheap on Qoo10! I got it from sweetbox.

It sure didn't disappoint. It's so easy to apply and didn't take long for me to get the hang of it. Look achieved easily!

But I suspect that this batch of pencils is defective. The cap for one side doesn't stay on.

I broke the pencil lead already. So fragile. Probably inherent. Still usable lah.

AHA by Cleansing Research Gel Cleansing

Introducing my latest favourite facewash!
$16.90 from Tokyu Hands
This is a random facewash that I picked from Tokyu Hands in March. Ok, not really random. It's the cheapest gel facewash that didn't look too gimmicky and didn't have pungent fragrance. I'm into my second tube now!

It did help with my clogs to a certain extent, but it didn't like penetrate my pores to lift them out like what those animations claim. I suspect you have to rub for minutes and I'm lazy for that. I like that it didn't leave my skin dry and tight.

What I didn't like was the slippery film left behind.

Grab iHerb

I have been very bothered by the build-up on my scalp. Normal shampooing was inefficient at removing it. Using brushes caused too much hairloss. If there's facial scrub for face, why isn't there scalp scrub?

Then, I read about exfoliating shampoo containing salicylic acid. It softens the build-up for easy removal. Neutrogena has such a product, but it strangely does not seem to exist in Singapore. Many other brands were of a more upmarket range.

Mineral Fusion was raved as an affordable and effective product. And guess what, iHerb carries it!! Haha I thought stuff like salicylic acid is chemical and frowned upon! Does it qualify by virtue of being paraben-free, cruelty-free and vegan? Like trying very hard lor!

But it's out of stock :(

Restocking

My Sierra Bees Pomegranate Beeswax Lip Balm has run out after 1 year. So annoyed that iHerb has done away with the free gift system! As if it's not enough, they have stopped giving out random small gifts too. Now I have to buy my own lip balm :(

Review: Pobling Facewash Brush and Kingdom Face Steamer

12/10
On Brother's recent trip to Hong Kong and Shenzhen with X, I took the opportunity to ask him to buy me a face steamer if he ever came across a cheap one. There are many available on Taobao, I'm sure he could find one!

And he did!

A Day of Many First-Times

Gonna try out Sister's hair stylist for the first time. The salon is near Holland Village, so it's a chance for me to eat there since I haven't been there since... many years ago.

My Beauty Diary Vanilla Moisturizing Aroma Mask

I responded to a facebook promotion by My Beauty Diary to redeem a free sheet mask. Because no need to share, write fake posts, invite friends or go down to collect it!

It took so long that I thought I have been forgotten, but the promised mask eventually arrived in my mail.

iHerb, Our Supplier

iHerb is literally our supplier now. Mother has opened a shop at a neighbourhood market selling organic stuff. To her delight, there's still some margin left, and not too shabby at all, despite the shipping cost!

iHerb - Joints, Skin, Food

Mother complained of aching joints and the polyclinic doctor prescribed glucosamine, but those dispensed were not vegetarian. Hence the search for vegetarian alternatives online. Being a lazybum, I went back to iHerb again. I briefly considered Vitacost, but their shipping cost is too prohibitive.

For the sake of 5% discount for orders over USD60, I added a lot of other items into the shopping cart. Classic case of spending more than intended.

I placed the order on 6 Apr and the delivery arrived on 11 Apr. 5 days... ok lah.

To Health & Beauty! (Cheaply)

Not quite done with the spate of online shopping! This time, Mother wanted to buy some health supplements. All thanks to a shop at our nearby market which managed to convince her that she needs help. No sarcasm here, heartfelt thanks! Of course, they sold her overpriced products, so here we are, looking to iHerb for more affordable alternatives.

Taobao Review: (Fake) Clarisonic Mia 2

This item deserves a review of its own.

So sick of seeing my pores still clogged with oil immediately after washing my face. There must be a way of getting all that gunk out.

My Queen Helene Mint Julep mask is running out soon. It's just been a couple of years, but it seems that sprees have gone out of fashion. O no!
