Christmas Party

It seems that whenever I buy a Poppy Cock for my colleagues, it's never meant to be. The sky poured the moment I stepped out and I had to cancel my plan to join the office Christmas party.

Now I'm saddled with another Poppy Cock, with the one from last year still in my cupboard.

And I didn't get to see the 2 leaving us at the end of the month. Luckily I attended the farewell.

R and K's Farewell

2 colleagues who have been with us for a long time, are leaving us at the end of the year. R has been with the team even before me. I think he joined just a few months before I did, and K has been around before I went for my surgery. Probably around 2010.

Today, it's their farewell lunch for them at... *drum rolls* Northpoint Swensen's, where else? Super boring, but must give face, when they have taken such good care of me. If I cannot make it for the Christmas party later, I will not see them again.

They are very dependable guys and I'm sad to see them go. For R, I kind of sensed that he's very sian already, especially when J told me that during a chanced encounter, he said that he's sian. And he just got promoted then. Although I seldom see him, I could sense that his heart is not with the project anymore. For that sensation to reach me from so far, must be very bad right?

As for K, well, I guess he has outgrown the project.

I have gone through too many farewells.

Department BBQ @ ECP

What! This month's department gathering is BBQ @ ECP?? Damn, cannot siam liao! I better go, else got to standby like last time!

The haze has been very bad these days, but today, the air has improved by leaps and bounds. In the morning, the organizers sent confirmation email that we will proceed and they have prepared masks for all of us.

Yeah, I think the haze is nothing compared to BBQ smoke lah.

Department Christmas Party 2014

Department Christmas party coming up at office! I asked Brother to buy Poppy Cock so I could share them with my colleagues. He didn't manage to buy them :( Saw his bag suspiciously drum-shaped, but I thought he would have told me if he did buy them. I asked Father to use Brother's bag to carry my laptop, but he insisted on using his own. Hope my laptop won't die from all the jumping around.

D's Farewell

It's D's last day. This time, we were going to have pizza in office. Not very pleased with the choice. Office is very inconvenient to me. Eating pizza without cutlery is very inconvenient too. And they are not sian of pizza yet meh?? OT always eat pizza right??? Turned out that's because D didn't want Swensen's (neither do I... DAMN SIAN). They weren't sure whether Thirteen Chefs at AMK Hub takes reservations (find out lor?) and the TL experienced slow service there; not desirable coz we will be in a rush.

Get-together Lunch With Too Many People

Our Business Development Manager, J, organized a get-together lunch with IHiss and users. Ehh weird lor. Plus mingling is really not my cup of tea.

Belated Farewell

Belated farewell for C! So nice of her to still entertain us despite having left the project for one month :O It's unfortunate that the project blew up on the morning of the original scheduled farewell lunch. So paiseh. We were so tied up that nobody remembered to inform me that lunch was cancelled. Luckily I thought it's illogical for us to continue lor. Thanks J for being my informant.

Team Outing + 2X Buffets

O my we are actually gonna do something very different for our team gathering!

First, buffet lunch at the good old Penang Place, which has moved from IBP to the more accessible Fusionopolis. I thought Meritus Mandarin is the furthest we will ever venture. Now here's a new record!

Partly because there's a part 2 of the day... bowling at SuperBowl SAFRA Mount Faber later. Meaning no need to go back to work yay! Which also means I should not skip it!! I'm totally coming!

Argh My Variable Bonus!

NOT HAPPY! The December variable bonus is based on my salary on 1 Dec, meaning I don't get the full month due to the no pay leave. Although I refunded some of my no-pay leave later, my bonus didn't get refunded.

Must think of how to prevent this next year.

Farewell to All Our QCs

Shocking news! Although not so shocked to hear it coz it's kind of expected... all 3 QCs are leaving at the end of the month. I just uttered an "oh" when my TL told me so and that we were going to be QC-less. Well, that's exactly what the higher management intended for us anyway, isn't it?

As if having to grapple with the ultra hot and humid wasn't enough, Singapore has been dealt with the double whammy of possibly the worst bout of haze in the past decade. It's Silent Hill days!

Farewell & Visit to Office

This week, my laptop gave me a health scare. The fan became damn noisy for no reason. I thought that was the harddisk. Phew. Anyway, it became a reason to retire the aging machine.

It so happened that my team was having farewell lunch at Casuarina Curry Restaurant. I could go to office later to pick up my new laptop.

A team gathering at somewhere impressive since... 2008?!

We are going to buffet lunch at Triple Three @ Mandarin Orchard! Somewhere on my radar! Yay yay yay!

So nice to see everybody! But why do I have to sit at an unhappening table? These guys are too quiet! And a few faces that I don't know. Not sure which project they belong to :X

The buffet spread is really extensive. I would have enjoyed it more if I had a personal caretaker to help me cut meat, shell prawns, eat happening stuff to inspire me... luckily it's free.

Lots of team lunches going on. I even bumped into a university friend, B. AHHH! LONG TIME NO SEE!

Pills @ No Use Hospital

Curiosity drove me to abuse work resources find out what the No Use Hospital has been feeding me besides food and how much they cost. Dates are to the best of my knowledge. Generally, injections are more expensive than their pill version.

Seeing Colleagues After a Long Time

If I could go out to meet a friend, there was no reason that I couldn't go out to meet my colleagues... XD More so when the meal was going to be paid for and the place reasonably close.
