FULLY Hair Fibers

Buying a different type of makeup! Shake-on hair that promises to transform a botak into a full crown! I had first-hand experience with it for Brother's wedding, when the makeup artist used it on me. It was marvelous and came off easily during shampooing. I remember seeing advertisements for a similar product a couple of years ago, going at about $50 per bottle?! Just have to be patient for a made-in-China version. Check out FULLY HAIR FIBERS from Buy Sell Supply @ Qoo10 for $10. Not sure if it's the same as what the makeup artist used and what was advertised, but $10 is cheap enough to find out for myself.

Balenciaga Classic Mini City

When somebody is going to France, you do NOT just ask them to bring back beauty products and food only! It's a chance to get my first luxury bag!

I am looking for a slingbag, that's easy to maintain and not too expensive. It should be large enough to hold my Agnes B wallet (yeah it's still around), phone, tissue paper and comb.

Nikunohi

Hanging out with Brother at Suntec City after its renovation. Checking out the new cluster of Japanese restaurants, Eat at Seven. It's not fully-opened yet, but the current choices are adequate.

Artichoke

It's Sister's birthday. This year, she picked a hipster restaurant, Artichoke.

I took a cab there with parents. As usual, I was held up by work. We passed by this place in the dark:
Just imagine it's dark, ok?

Laman's Delight

4 types of cake. Bottom right might be Drunken Cherry
Drunken Cherry is chocolate cake with rum and cherry cream filling.

A313 Pommade

Brother and SIL were going to France for their honeymoon. Since I couldn't tag along, it made sense to make them bring back some French products.

Other than Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk which costs like 1/3 there (I think), I ordered a cheap retinol cream, A313. Need to start fighting wrinkles! It works by stimulating collagen production. I have read about people using Retin A, but that requires a prescription and I'm too lazy and cheapo to do that. Retinol is available OTC, but I haven't seen any product that's purely retinol, without other ingredients that I'm not interested in. A313 is the answer! The original hot product is Avibon, but it's now extinct. A313 is the closest match.

Supplements on a Budget

When I saw my neurologist this year, he wanted to start me on "nerve vitamins", so he prescribed them to me.

I was dismayed to find a massive queue at the pharmacy. I should have known better - late morning is the peak hour. And I'm in a hurry to meet my friend for lunch!

Let's try to get express queue...

Pharmacist at the counter not auto ley. Screw it, I shall get it another day. I asked the pharmacist to give me the name of the item. It's Neurogen-E. I was told it's sold in the retail pharmacy as well. Is it... let me scout for it outside first.

USS: Halloween Horror Nights 5

Singtel lucky draw for complimentary Universal Studios tickets again! I entered the family and again, Father won. Seems like only old birds will win ley? Lol! It's for Halloween Horror Nights. According to Brother's, it's a nightmare of crowds and queues, so I shall pass. Sister went with her friend.

Department BBQ @ ECP

What! This month's department gathering is BBQ @ ECP?? Damn, cannot siam liao! I better go, else got to standby like last time!

The haze has been very bad these days, but today, the air has improved by leaps and bounds. In the morning, the organizers sent confirmation email that we will proceed and they have prepared masks for all of us.

Yeah, I think the haze is nothing compared to BBQ smoke lah.

Lioele Auto Eyebrow

I'm tired of sharing the eyebrow powder with Sister! And the applicator is broken. And it's difficult to achieve the thick eyebrow look that's in fashion these days because layering the powder doesn't seem to work.

So I'm getting the Lioele Auto Eyebrow! Rave reviews everywhere.
S$8.50
And it's so cheap on Qoo10! I got it from sweetbox.

It sure didn't disappoint. It's so easy to apply and didn't take long for me to get the hang of it. Look achieved easily!

But I suspect that this batch of pencils is defective. The cap for one side doesn't stay on.

I broke the pencil lead already. So fragile. Probably inherent. Still usable lah.

AHA by Cleansing Research Gel Cleansing

Introducing my latest favourite facewash!
$16.90 from Tokyu Hands
This is a random facewash that I picked from Tokyu Hands in March. Ok, not really random. It's the cheapest gel facewash that didn't look too gimmicky and didn't have pungent fragrance. I'm into my second tube now!

It did help with my clogs to a certain extent, but it didn't like penetrate my pores to lift them out like what those animations claim. I suspect you have to rub for minutes and I'm lazy for that. I like that it didn't leave my skin dry and tight.

What I didn't like was the slippery film left behind.

Grab iHerb

I have been very bothered by the build-up on my scalp. Normal shampooing was inefficient at removing it. Using brushes caused too much hairloss. If there's facial scrub for face, why isn't there scalp scrub?

Then, I read about exfoliating shampoo containing salicylic acid. It softens the build-up for easy removal. Neutrogena has such a product, but it strangely does not seem to exist in Singapore. Many other brands were of a more upmarket range.

Mineral Fusion was raved as an affordable and effective product. And guess what, iHerb carries it!! Haha I thought stuff like salicylic acid is chemical and frowned upon! Does it qualify by virtue of being paraben-free, cruelty-free and vegan? Like trying very hard lor!

But it's out of stock :(

New Therapy Centre

Some People Died decided to change their targetted group of clients. Each centre would only provide transport to clients living in the centre's area. In other words, I was to leave this centre. I was given 2 choices nearer my house, or I could go somewhere else of my choice.

Shinkei Japanese Restaurant

Our property agent has promised to give us a treat once she gets her commission for selling us our new home. Guess what, she only got it recently?! So a newbie will have to eat air for one year?? Tough life man.

Since our agent is treating, we let her suggest the place. Later if we quote too atas, very paiseh one mah. She suggested Shinkei at Toa Payoh Central. Never been there or heard of it. People chia then go try lor haha.

I asked her to give me a ride, which she gladly obliged. She said she saw a durian on the road!! Dangerous object sia!

We waited for Brother to meet us at the carpark so he could help me out of the car.

Today, we have our agent and her husband, Brother and SIL and me. Great for sharing food, as it's an ala carte Japanese buffet! The food was ok for the price, I think ~$40/pax?

Waiting time for the cooked dishes can be very long, so it's advisable to order all you want at once. Sometimes it's sooo long that we suspect that the kitchen was waiting for a minimum order of the same dish before prepating. The serving size of the cooked dishes are very small, but that's fine, prevent overeating/overordering mah.

According to HGW, this place has closed down. What a pity.

KL Trip - Day 4

How do you spend 4 days in KL? Well we just did, with the help of bad flight timings.

Woke up super early, checked out and took our hired ride to the airport.

Reached too early. Walked around, but nothing much to see. The airport was spacious and clean. Felt comfortable there.

Brunch at Be Lohas Vegetarin Cuisine. I stay away from vegetarian soup noodles. I think my fried rice was the best choice :P Mother didn't like their food either. Too modern I guess.

Teh before we all died of a headache. A couple was kind enough to exchange tables with us so we could have more space outside.

Finally can check-in. Toilet break and off we went.

店小二 for lunchner when we landed. We were given the false impression of choice, when in reality, it's X's favourite around.

And the end of the most regrettable trip in years.

KL Trip - Apartment

With 6 people, it would be a good idea to get a whole apartment. No more bunking in with relatives!

KL Trip - Flight

14/3
Upon the announcement of 7 August as a public holiday for the SG50 Public Holiday and a Jubilee Weekend, I thought that would be a good opportunity for the KL leg of Brother and X's wedding. There would be time for us to sashay there and back, and even time for some sightseeing. Afterall, I have not been to KL for at least more than a decade. We will miss the Jubilee celebrations, but it's not like I will be participating in anything.

KL Trip - Day 3

Hi, Chuai Heng Restaurant, we are here again! Yumcha brunch this time! Real yumcha, eating dim sum! After the dinner, Brother realized that it was the same restaurant that he had roast duck with X from a previous trip. He ordered it again. The dim sum was not bad, but the fried noodles were meh. We dapaoed it, but I really don't think we will be eating it.

KL Trip - Day 2

Today's the reason we were here. It's supposed to be just a dinner, but it still ended up more chaotic than the AD.

KL Trip - Day 1

We embarked on a trip that only Mother was looking forward to. The last time we have travelled as a family was 8 years ago, for Grandmother's funeral.

I left my phone behind. SIGH.
