S.E.A. Aquarium

Since I couldn't go overseas, I made do being a local tourist. I know I was supposed to stay away from crowded places, but... WHO CARES. I've got my eye ointment on, can right? I think I'm only starting to look almost normal.

Free tickets again! The only reason why we go to expensive local attractions

Budget lunch at Malaysian Food Street.

Finally got to eat the claypot rice coz no queue. Yummy chaotah bits.


Penang laksa! Shiok, but too spicy for me. Worth it as it's not overpriced like Gurney Drive.


And the perennial comfort food.

Followed by cheap drinks from 7-11. Big Gulp, same for less.

Aquarium time. We started at The Maritime Experiential Museum since the Aquarium ticket covers this attraction too and Sister has not been here before. There's something new for Brother and I too - the Typhoon Theatre is also included! Luckily last time never pay to enter!

We first waited outside the theatre, where a bunch of pre-schoolers on excursion gathered. Uh oh... it's gonna be noisy.

We were then let in through the door, gathering in front of a stage. For a while, I was worried that it was going to be a skit or some crowd-participation thingy. This first worry was unfounded - we were shown a video. Now my next worry was whether it was just going to be a video! Imagine paying extra last time for a video?

The Maritime Experiential Museum demonstrated a program line-up that exceeded the expectations of worrisome-me. We were led down to the proper Typhoon Theatre to enjoy a multi-sensory storm and shipwreck simulation, complete with water droplets destroying pain-stakeningly-styled hairdos. The kiddos were thrilled!

Exiting the Typhoon Theatre, we were greeted with a giant fish-tank, hinting that we should be exploring the Aquarium next.

WTH still so crowded on Monday! Can't imagine the situation on weekends.

Fishes, fishes everywhere! We also saw the dolphins that created much controversy. Catch them before the unlikely scenario of the Aquarium caving in to demands to release them. Thought they looked kind of sad swimming circles in such a small tank.

Done with the Aquarium. Still have daylight for a stroll around Sentosa. Headed to Siloso Beach... and promptly ended up snacking and enjoying aircon at McDonald's because the weather was too hot.

Then we strolled along the beach, on the pavement and under the trees of course. The sun was so strong that the beach was quite dead. There were only a couple of angmoh ladies sunbathing. Siao lor, must be too deprived of the sun at home.

Passing by the Palawan Amphitheatre, we heard a show going on, so we joined in. It's an animal show! Thank goodness for the angmoh tourists who gamely participated in the activities. At the end of it, we got to stroke the albino python, all for free! Nice ley, its skin is so smooth and cool. No need to pay the 路边摊 outside Siloso station for photo opportunity.

We left Sentosa for Vivocity. Looked around for dinner candidates... Sister was feeling rich, so we went for Serenity Spanish Bar & Restaurant. She wanted to eat the roast suckling pig, but chickened out when she found out how pricey it was. Ok lor just order normal stuff. All were nice, but the grilled squid deserves special mention. It was cooked just right, not too tough, soft but not too soft. I've never eaten such tasty sotong before!

Strolled around the supermarket and called it a day.
